Remaining celibate is ordained in scriptures of Christianity! Clerics... ordained ministers were expected to remain celibate which in Christianity meant abstention from sexual indulgence... remaining unmarried! Christianity also advocated practising continence... termed Brahmacharya Vrata in Hinduism!

To practice celibacy in Hinduism... as per sacred Bhagavad Gita... a maximum of two sexual indulgences per month are permitted for married people (one was preferable)! The meaning of celibacy as detailed in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism primarily meant abstention from sexual indulgence in totality!

Practising sexuality outside of marriage was prohibited in Hinduism! As per Bhagavad Gita... foremost of all scriptural texts... sexual abstinence constituted hardly 10% of total celibacy! 90% celibacy is always practiced mentally... eradicate inflow of negative thoughts to our brain in totality is what celibacy is all about!

Unless we invoked pure thoughts all the time... celibacy could not be practiced in totality! Purity of thoughts meant scaling higher levels of spiritual pursuit! Practice of absolute celibacy was necessitated for travellers of spiritual path... never path of religion... path of rituals! Those desirous of reaching God in present life... needed practising absolute celibacy... no matter what!

Practice of celibacy for bishops... priests was mandated in scriptures of different religions of world... but how many people world over practiced true celibacy as detailed in sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism! A true practitioner of celibacy finally gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) at end of spiritual journey!

Purpose of celibacy is always twofold! Absolute celibacy was ordained for travellers of spiritual path! Those desiring riches of material life... practising celibacy had a hidden agenda... self empowerment and personal growth! Truly... practice of absolute celibacy led one to phenomenal success in personal life... something that could not be achieved in absence of celibacy!

Practice of celibacy had lot in store for all! Practising celibacy human beings finally reached end frontiers of life... stage of enlightenment and finally salvation! On the earthly domain... practice of celibacy led to absolute success in life... no matter what your goal of life! Celibacy was not ordained by God Almighty only for clerics... priests and fathers!

Practising celibacy any human being world over could reach any goal of life... no matter what! Practice of absolute celibacy on the physical plane called for abstaining from sexual indulgence! On the mental plane... practice of absolute celibacy meant blocking flow of all negative thoughts to our brain in totality!

True celibacy is practiced by transmuting sexual energy... the most potent of all cosmic energies made available to mankind! By transmuting semen... most men in worldly life gained phenomenal success! For a lady practice of absolute celibacy was almost next to impossible... so was ordained by God Almighty!

However transmuting sexual energies towards the only goal of life... every man and woman can gain absolute success in life! Even though as a lady practising celibacy was difficult but in the entire history of mankind... two ladies finally succeeded in transmuting sexual energy to reach stage of enlightenment (termed kaivalya in Hinduism)!

Both philosopher Gargi and Maitreyi (the second dutiful wife of Sage Yajnavalkya) finally succeeded in crossing all barriers of mundane ephemeral life... gaining enlightenment and salvation in the end! As a lady practice of absolute celibacy became difficult due to imbibed feelings of Moha (deep emotional attachment) existing in every lady since birth!

To cut across shackles of Moha (deep emotional attachment) is very difficult as a lady... prime reason why enlightenment and salvation is primarily domain of men... never women! Yet, to gain absolute success in physical manifest world... as a lady practice of celibacy meant abstention not only from thoughts of sexual nature but all that was negative!
